What is Sheet Music?
Sheet music, by definition, is the the sheet or sheets of paper that musicians have in front of them that contains the written notation of what they are playing. To put it simply, sheet music can be compared to the speaking lines of an actor, except instead of words, it is written in musical notation, a system of notes and other annotations that represents the music you are playing.
While all that does seem a bit complicated, you'll find that learning it is quite simple. If you've ever had piano experience, you know that you have to juggle two entire clefs at the same time. With band, however, your instrument only focuses on one clef and one set of notes in that clef, letting you concentrate on much less and leaving time for other matters.
